Tre Sosa

Tre Jean-Marie (born 13 April 1993 in Hackney, London), better known by his stage name Tre Sosa is a British grime music artist, songwriter and record producer. He is of Trinidadian and St. Lucian descent.

Career

He is the son of singer Lincoln Jean-Marie, who won a MOBO for best newcomer with his band Peace By Piece. Tre's parents divorced when he was five years old, resulting in his father moving to North London, but he still remained ACTIVE in his life.

Early years

He started his MusicAL career at the age of twelve after forming a collective called Sosa Entertainment with Rafroman and Jaime Menezes amongst others. Just under two years later the group split up due to a key member being sent to prison and the majority wanting to pursue solo paths.

The self-taught studio producer and engineer was named by RWD Magazine as "a talent to watch" when he was just thirteen. Around the same time he started to work heavily with Nu Brand Flexxx and done a music video for his single 'Hits Like Us featuring Striver of the group and Aston Merrygold (lead vocalist of the boyband JLS)', although they shot a video for this, it never was streamed on television which disheartened him for a short period of time and he announced a break on his Myspace.

Starting Afresh: 2008-2009

Tre shot a video for 'London (Feat. Boya Deemarko & Vidal)' in December 2008.

In February 2009, Tre was featured on Ras Kwame's BBC 1Xtra HomeGrown show.

In March 2009, Tre was approached by Nike to model for their Spring/Summer collection but declined in order to fulfil other commitments. Shortly afterwards he announced his single 'London' will be on broadcast MTV Base and Channel AKA by the end of May. The same month he co-founded the record company Melodic Bass, with old manager Jackie Caters.

According to a blog posted on Tre's Bebo page in May 2009, he was working on his first studio album which was said to feature acts such as Taio Cruz, Daniel Debourg, Sean Rumsey and cousin Leon Jean-Marie who is the project of Mark Ronson; it also stated he will be releasing a few mixtapes starting with 'The Evidence' which is to make up for the year he went missing and prove why he is the best sixteen year old grime artist.

Tours

Tre has not been on any full dated tours yet, however he has performed with and opened for Various Artists both in the United Kingdom and abroad for acts such as N-Dubz, Taio Cruz, Bow Wow and Lupe Fiasco.
