Railways already connect Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia with each other, while Libya, Egypt and Sudan are not connected to each other, in the Asian part, almost all Arab states have been connected by railroads, except the Gulf States.

New underway projects to develop the Arab-Rail Lines have been under construction, Linking South Egyptian City of Abu Simbel with North Sudanese City of Wadi Halfa, also building two grand lines connecting the Gulf States with Iraq in the north and Yemen in the south, another one crossing the Libyan coast while linking it with the North Egyptian Rail line on the east and the Maghrib Rail Line in the west. There are Long term projects to re-open the Palestine Railway with Egypt.
