Background
The TrackSlayerz — is a production trio consisting of hit-makers Dexter “Inf” Randall, Demetri “Price” Duncan, and Charles “Chip” Bobino III – draw from heart, soul and raw emotion, to create their innovative sound; a combination that has generated numerous opportunities for the beat making team to turn out hits for several chart topping hip-hop artists. Their catalog includes Yung Joc ’s "Posted at the Store" featuring Gucci Mane and Yung Ralph, which was the lead single off of 2009's The Grind Flu ; Jim Jones ’ “Pulling Me Back” featuring Chink Santana, off of Jones’ 2009 release, Pray IV Reign which debuted at number nine on Billboard’s top 200, as well as the Lloyd Banks track, "We Remain" from his January 2010 mixtape release, V.5. Most notably, the TrackSlayerz are the sound behind T.I. ’s comeback single, “I’m Back” ; the first single from the King of the South to hit the streets after his 2010 release from prison. T.I. choosing a TrackSlayerz beat as the first release from his seventh studio album at such a pivotal point in his career, speaks volumes about the TrackSlayerz talent. In fact, T.I. was so impressed with how the TrackSlayerz’s instrumental magic complimented his fiery lyricism, that he signed the collective to a production deal with Grand Hustle Records. Price, Inf and Chip have proven that in a genre of music where it has become acceptable for producers to pump out beats that simply mimic the current hot single, it can pay off to do the opposite. The three young producers complement each others’ styles in more ways than one.
Inf grew up in a military family, traveling extensively within the U.S. and internationally during his childhood. This lifestyle “exposed (him) to a wide range of music from an early age." Price caught the music making bug after hearing “Next Episode” by Dr. Dre. Intrigued by the components of good music, Price began creating his own in 2003. Although Chip did not start producing original material until meeting Inf in 2006, he is an accomplished trumpet player whose ear for music spans across a multitude of genres.
Price crossed paths with Inf on Soundclick.com in 2005. They swapped out beats but fell out of contact over time. However, in the summer of 2006, they reconnected and exchanged beats. During their detachment, Inf had been working at perfecting his use of FL Studio (then FruityLoops), which he was introduced to in 2001 and still credits as the “main weapon in the TrackSlayerz’s production arsenal." Having grown in their production skills, they liked the development of each other’s sounds, decided to work together and the TrackSlayerz production team was established. In early 2007, Chip — a high school friend and co-producer of Inf — joined the team.
Future Work
The TrackSlayerz not only have aspirations to expand their discography, but to broaden their catalogue to include pop and rock music, video game soundtracks as well as television and film scores. They have clearly illustrated that they do not limit their musical palate to just hip hop. These three creative minds place high value on keeping their material fresh and engaging. It is the infusion of their diverse skill sets that makes the TrackSlayerz a triple threat. Look for the TrackSlayerz to be credited with hit after hit, as they work diligently to make music that pushes them toward their constant goal of outdoing their past work and creating a brand of sound all their own.
