Toonz Media Group
Toonz Animation India Pvt. Ltd. is an animation company in India. It is the animation arm of the Singapore-based Toonz Media Group, which has diverse interests in production and distribution of live-action feature films, digital and gaming content, licensing and merchandising, and media-related education.
Toonz Animation was started in 1999 by G. A. Menon and Bill Dennis, who had worked on Disney's The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. Toonz Animation India Pvt. Ltd is the state-of-the-art animation production facility of Toonz group. The 18,000 sq feet facility is nestled in Technopark, India's largest IT Park located in the South Indian state of Kerala, one of the must see destinations of a lifetime as described by National Geographic Traveller.
Studio
Established in the year 1999, Toonz Animation India Pvt. Ltd is the state-of-the-art animation production facility of Toonz Group. The 18,000 sq feet facility is nestled in Technopark, India's largest IT Park located in the South Indian state of Kerala From the creation of India's first 2D animated TV series & 2D feature film, to India's first 3D Stereoscopic, the studio boasts of an envious pedigree that saw many successful co-production partnerships with the likes of Walt Disney, Turner, Nickelodeon, Sony, Universal, BBC, Paramount, Marvel and Hallmark. Today, the studio has emerged as the leader in The INDIAN animation industry with a host of successful productions for the domestic market and one of the most admired studios in South East Asia. The studio has been heralded by Animation Magazine as 'one of the top ten studios to watch' and also been chosen as one among India's top ten 'cool' companies to work for.
Distribution
The IP creation and distribution arm of Toonz group, Toonz Entertainment Pte Ltd, Singapore was established with a vision to emerge as the leader in producing and distributing entertainment content across multiple media platforms. TEPL is involved in the production, financing and distribution of films, television and home entertainment content across the globe. TEPL owns the IP rights of all original content from the stable of Toonz group and the distribution rights to an impressive library of world-class animated & live action properties especially for the kids entertainment market. TEPL partnerships include the likes of Walt Disney, Turner Entertainment, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, BBC, Sony Entertainment, Lionsgate Entertainment, Warner Brothers, Universal Studios, Cartoon Network, ABC Australia etc. TEPL has two offshoots; London based Magpie Entertainment Pvt. Ltd which serves as its world-wide distribution arm and Toonz Global, Canada which serves as a live-action production facility apart from its animation production facility in India.
Digital
The digital arm of Toonz Media Group, Toonz Digital is primarily involved in Web TV and Game development along with consulting for social media space.The web channel ‘Chotoonz.tv’ is a first-of-its-kind initiative in the Indian market which aims at providing entertainment content for kids over the web. The channel mostly caters to the Indian market and Indian diaspora across the globe. Toonz Digital also offers game development for mobile and social media space.
Academy
Toonz Academy, one of the top animation schools in India is the animation training division of Toonz Media Group. The academy was established in the year 2002 with a vision to honing the skills of students with a passion for animation and creating a talent pool of skilled workforce for the Indian Animation Industry.
Toonz academy offers both advanced and short-term career-oriented courses in animation with an emphasis on the latest trends in the Industry. The curriculum, framed by Industry experts with rich production experience aims at laying a strong foundation in building a well-rounded professional with strengths in the areas of animation, story and visual language.
