Tomas Manco

Tomas Manco (born 19 January 1988) is an Australian semi-professional ice hockey player currently playing for the Sydney Ice Dogs in the Australian Ice Hockey League.

Playing career

Manco first played ice hockey in 2005 for the Sydney Bears of the Australian Ice Hockey League in 2005. In 2006 Manco became a member for Sydney of the New South Wales Ice Hockey Midget League and also played his second season for the Bears. In 2007 Manco moved to the Western Sydney Ice Dogs (now Sydney Ice Dogs) where he played 23 games, scoring two goals and recording three assists. Manco is currently in his fifth season for the Ice Dogs and is currently playing in the 2011 AIHL season.

During 2008 Manco was also a member of the New South Wales State team in the Brown grade (23 & under) for which he has played four games, and scoring two points.

Manco was first called up to represent Australia in 2005 where he joined the national under-18 team to play at the 2005 IIHF World U18 Championships. The following year Manco was again selected for the under-18 team to play at the World Championships and was also selected to play in the national under-20 team at the 2006 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. In 2007 Manco joined the national senior team to play at the 2007 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships. He has since represented Australia at the Ice Hockey World Championships on three other occasions.

Manco was born on January 19, 1988 in Brezno, Slovakia.
