Todd A. Haney
Todd Augustus Haney IV (born March 27, 1971 in Fullerton, California) is a marine biologist and a doctoral candidate at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a specialist in the study of crustaceans, specifically leptostraca and cyamidae, having discovered several new species (including Nebalia Schizophthalma, Nebalia gerkenae, and Nebalia kensleyi) and a new genus (Saronebalia)
Todd graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Zoology and a minor in Chemistry from Northern Arizona University as well as a M.S. in Marine Biology from University of Charleston, South Carolina.While earning his graduate degrees he worked as a teaching assistant for various courses of study that included Evolution, Animal Physiology, Animal Behavior, and Human Psychology.
Todd has also held several research positions at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, Marine Resources Research Institute, and Glover’s Reef Marine Research Station. He has published several research papers as well as been a presenter at a variety of national and international conferences.
Previously he worked at Shalhevet High School in Los Angeles as a Field Instructor and Instructor for AP Biology and Ecology. Currently, he is teaching at Sage Hill School in Newport Coast, California.
