TJ Media

TJ Media Co., Ltd. (), commonly known as TJ Media (), is a South Korean manufacturer of karaoke machines and audio equipment. The company also produces karaoke music content and operates businesses related to online karaoke services, electronic song indexes, sound chips and entertainment.

The company traces its origins to ‘’‘Taijin Sound’’’ (), established in 1981. It was incorporated in April 1991, renamed ‘’‘Taijin Media’’’ () in 1997, and adopted its current name, TJ Media, in 2005. It has been listed on KOSDAQ since April 1997.

TJ Media is one of the major manufacturers of karaoke systems in South Korea and competes primarily with Kumyoung Entertainment.

History

TJ Media traces its history to Taijin Sound, which was established in 1981. The company was incorporated as Taijin Sound Co., Ltd. in April 1991.

In August 1993, it introduced the ‘’‘PRO-500’’’, which the company described as South Korea’s first commercial karaoke machine using recorded live-instrument accompaniment.

In January 1997, the company changed its name from Taijin Sound to ‘’‘Taijin Media’’’. It was listed on the KOSDAQ market in April of that year.

The company obtained ISO 9001 certification in September 1998. In December 1999, it released ‘‘WOW-DDD (Dance Dance Diet)’’.

In April 2001, Taijin Media launched the online karaoke service ‘’‘Ziller’’’. In November of the same year, it signed an agreement with Japanese karaoke company Daiichikosho to supply electronic song-index devices.

In June 2002, the company released ‘’‘Ziller-OK’’’, a hard-disk-based karaoke machine incorporating video content. In November 2002, it introduced ‘’‘Ziller-Net’’’, an Internet-connected network karaoke machine.

A home DVD karaoke system was released in April 2003. In July 2004, the company established a music studio capable of Dolby Digital 5.1-channel mixing.

In January 2005, Taijin Media changed its corporate name to ‘’‘TJ Media Co., Ltd.’’’

Musicom

TJ Media’s early Musicom karaoke-machine models included the TS-1500, TS-1900, TS-2000, TM-2300, TM-2350, TMS-7000, TMS-7000A and TMS-8000.

Pro

The ‘’‘Pro’’’ series was mainly produced during the 1990s. Models included the PRO-500, PRO-600, PRO-660, PRO-700, PRO-750, PRO-800, PRO-900, PRO-950, PRO-1100, PRO-1150, PRO-1170, PRO-1200, PRO-1500, PRO-2000 and PRO-3000.

WOW

The ‘’‘WOW’’’ product line included the WOW-5000, WOW-6000, WOW-7200, WOW-7300, WOW-7300D, WOW-7500, WOW-7700 and WOW-7800.

Ziller

TJ Media introduced its ‘’‘Ziller’’’ series in the 2000s. Products included the TKR-500 series, TKR-600 series, TKR-700 series, MR-800 series, TKR-880, TKR-900, C10, L10, S10, C20, L20 and S20.

Several models supported network connectivity, allowing karaoke content to be updated through an online connection.

Real

The ‘’‘Real’’’ series succeeded the Ziller product line and includes both commercial and home karaoke systems.

Commercial models have included the B30, C30, L30, P10, C35, L35, P15, C40, C45, C50 series, P20, S60 series, C60 series, B60, B65, K10, B70, C70, S70 series, P70, K20, B80, S80, P80, A1 series, B1, P1 series, K1, A2, P2, B2, K2, A3, P3 and B3.

Home karaoke models have included the TKR-304K, TKR-355HK, TKR-365HK, TKR-360CK, M1, M2 and TKR-370HK.

Business

TJ Media’s businesses include commercial and home karaoke machines, karaoke music content, online and mobile karaoke services, electronic song-index systems, sound integrated circuits and entertainment management.

Its subsidiaries and affiliated companies have included ‘’‘TJ Communication’’’, French sound-chip manufacturer ‘’‘Dream S.A.S.’’’, ‘’‘TJ Philippines’’’ and entertainment company ‘’‘With Us Entertainment’’’.
