Timeline of 16th century conversion of Hindu clans to Islam
Sudhan-A lot of Sudhans are of the opinion that they are descendants of Hindus. Research on this subject was conducted by Col. Dr. Khalil, a Sudhan who lived in Rawalpindi. There are a lot of Hindus and Sikhs who are members of the Sudhan tribe, most of these live in Kashmir. .
According to Dr. Khalil Sudhans were converted to Islam by Auranzeb 1
Mian-Quote -"...In the case of Kashtwar , the rulers of which were Muhammadan from the time of Aurangzeb. They still , however retained their Hindu names and customs , and to the present day their descendents are called Mian . The rulers of Aknur and Rihasi belonging to brances of the Jammu family seem also to have embraced Islam ...." .."
Meo- Like most Indian Muslims, the Meos were originally Hindu; when and how their conversion to Islam came AbOUT is unclear. It seems probable they were converted in stages: first by Salar Masud in the eleventh century, by Balban in the thirteenth century, and then during Aurangzeb's rule in the seventeenth century.
