Theron Guard

The Theron Guard from the popular Xbox 360 title, Gears of War, is an advanced form of the common Locust Horde enemy, the Drone. A Theron Guard is a special-operation version of the standard drone Drone that guards signifigant control points of the Locust, like the Imulsion facilty. They are both faster, stronger and better equipped than the average Drone. They are also more agressive than their average drone counterparts, and attack using flanking manouevres. Also notable is the fact that they speak in an ominous hiss, in CONTRAST to the deep grunts of most Locust.

Equipment

Theron Guards wear more advanced armor including flowing red robes and full facial masks which distinguish them from regular Drones. Their preferred weapon is the Torque Bow, a devastating weapon that can kill the player with a single hit. Theron Guards can occasionally be seen with Lancer Rifles.

Additional Information

In multiplayer, one can play as a Theron Guard or Theron Sentinel (a slightly more advanced version of the Theron Guard). In regards to gameplay, they are no different from any other species in multiplayer except for the hissing sounds that are made when running or reloading.
