Ronnie Dark is a multi-instrumentalist/songwriter from Syracuse, New York. Ron is the host and creator of The Wax Museum, which is broadcast on WVOA, Love Radio 95.3 FM and on the internet at http://www.wvoaradio.com/listenonline.

The Wax Museum

The Wax Museum with Ronnie Dark is a program dedicated to garage rock, progressive rock, British Invasion music, and deep cuts from the 1960s and 1970s. The show debut on June 6, 2009 and airs Sunday nights from 7-10pm EST. Most of the music played on The Wax Museum is from vinyl records. Ronnie Dark is a long time record collector and enthusiast who specializes in collecting rare garage band 45 rpm discs 1 2 5.

The Wax Museum with Ronnie Dark has interviewed several artists since its debut, including Richie Walker, Jimmy Walker and John Charles (no relation) from The Knickerbockers, Tommy Girvin, guitarist for Eddie Money's band, Gary Holland (drummer/vocalist) Great White, songwriter John Keller, WNDR legend "Happy" Jack MacNamee and singer Sonny Farrar 2.

Ron's father, Ron Lauback, is the network announcer for the program.

The Wax Museum's catch phrases "Don't be scared, it's only Vinyl!" and "the Ultimate Dimension in Rock!" were created by Steven Alexander, co owner and operator of Infamous Adventures, an internet based multi-medai gaming company 3 5.

The Wax Museum also features a rotating cast of characters/friends, including John "the Commander" Walsh, Tony "T.N." Busco, James Leonard the 3rd and Dr. Floyd BaCon (a/k/a Steven Alexander) that act as color commentators from time to time 2.

Previous on air experience

Ron was employed by Galaxy Communications from October 1999 to October 2008. He worked weekend part-time shifts before becoming the host of TK99's long running "Breakfast with the Beatles" program (February 2001-October 2008). He also engineered And Co-hosted the local music program "Homegrown" with Eric Will from 2002-2005 (3). Previous to this Ron worked for WDWN Win 89 FM (Cayuga Community College's radio station in Auburn, New York (1995-1997) <3>.

Stage name Ronnie Dark was created to avoid confusion with his father, Ron Lauback, who is a well known musician in the Syracuse, New York area.

Besides The Wax Museum, Ron is the engineer of The Bob Pietrucha Polish Radio Show which is also broadcast on WVOA Sundays at 2pm EST <1> <2>.

Other media

Ronnie Dark performs in the Upstate New York area solo, and with The Monterays and The Brethren. He has also released three solo CD's and one EP since 2002. Ron is currently working on two new solo albums. The first, "Music from the Grey Room", has a tentative release date of April 6th, 2010 <3>.

Had an endorsement deal with Electro Harmonix guitar/effects pedals for two years (2006-2008) <3>.

Prefers Fender Stratocasters and Marshall Amplification. Ron retired his main Strat, a Black 1996 model named "Jennifer", earlier in 2009 <3>.

Ronnie Dark has also worked as a session musician, most recently appearing on Brand New Sin's 2009 release Distilled <4>.
