Background
Chanté describes the album, "It's moody and full of depth. It’s the most honest, creative and personal body of work I have ever created. I've honed my songwriting skills, and have taken the intimacy of my diary into this album. I feel I’ve graduated from being a ‘singer’ to an ‘artist’. You can expect some real musicianship and plenty of theatrics." JC Smith, producer of "Dead to Me" says the song holds a lot of personal meaning for Keshia.
Recording
Chanté worked in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Miami and Toronto. Chanté wrote all of her album and is noted to have collaborated with many high profile producers & songwriters.
Music
Chanté took to her twitter to describe her album as "no-genre" being that it is a fusion of many different types of music and doesn't need to be classified.
JC Smith, producer on the album, stated he enjoyed writing "Dead to Me" with Chante, stating "it was a pretty exciting session. Keshia spent some time before the session describing her vision for where she would like to go next as an artist. Keshia’s scope of vision kinda blew my mind. She’s very open to exploring some boundary pushing musical and personal territory and this left us open to really dig deep while writing. We felt a bit like mad scientists – but always with the soul of the music at the heart of everything."

In February, she will be performing her new single for two shows in Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
