The Vectors

The Vectors is a punk band formed in Umeå, Sweden in early 1996. The line-up is Karl Backman (guitar/vocals), Pelle Backman (bass/vocals) and Jens Nordén (drums). All three members had previously played together in other bands since 1990. Jens Nordén was also in Step Forward with Dennis Lyxzén.

The first 7"EP "[...] MTV" was out in December 1996 on New Lifeshark Records who also released the first LP "The Vectors" in 1998. However the album cover and lyric sheet were censored by the label, and the band never worked with them again.

In 1999 The Vectors were temporarily stopped from touring Germany by a major label lawsuit, while other shows were stopped after neo-[...] attacks.

The "[...] The Pope" 7" EP was released in the summer of 2000 on their own label and the band received death threats and hate mail from Christians and pro-life activists for the pro-choice title track. The record was also denied distribution by a number of distributors.

In November 2003 the second LP "Still Ill" was released on Busted Heads Records. Like the previous EP it was produced by David Sandström.

A third album called "Good [...] Bad [...]" will be released in 2009.

Karl Backman and Jens Nordén are also in AC4 with Dennis Lyxzén and David Sandström. Pelle Backman is also in Audionom.
