The Runaway Girls

The Runaway Girls is a British film which has been in development since 2006. It stars Stephanie Whitestone and Jessica Williams.

Plot

Rochelle and Ceri are two troubled sisters who live on a council estate in Merthyr Tydfil. 21-Year-old Rochelle has just had an arbotion after a one night stand at a party. 16-Year old Ceri is being bullied at school both physically and mentally. There 19-Year old brother Ryan has just come out of prison for breach of an ASBO. The youths are trying to sort there lives out when Ceri and Rochelle are framed after a gang stabbed an old man in a park. With the police in pursuit, they flee across wales on the lamb.

Cast

• Stephanie Whitestone as Rochelle- a sarcastic, tough young adult who has just had an abortion from a one night stand.
• Jessica Williams as Ceri- a teenage girl who is severley bullied at school.
• Aaron Williams as Ryan- Rochelle and ceri's brother who is a gang member and has just completed a small scentence for breach of an ASBO.
• TBA as louisa- a woman who helps the girls hide.

Production

Production began on January 4, 2010 in South Wales. Because of The heavy snowfall in south Wales (Amongst other parts of the United Kingdom) exterior scenes which began filming on January 4, 2010 were postponed.On January 8, 2010 indoor filming began. Exterior filming continued on January 16th in Merthyr Tydfil, Blackwood and Ystrad Mynach. Filming also toke place on location in Merthyr Tydfil, Blackwood, Newbridge and the Brecon Beacons in late January and February 2010. Filming rapped on February 15th 2010.

Production delays

Production was due to start in October 2006 but it was delayed because of personnel problems on the crew. It was later stated that the filming would take place in June 2007 but whitestone was AbOUT to embark on A Tour. It later was due to start filming in March 2008 but was called off 5 days before starting. In September 2009 it was announced that filming would take place in January 2010, but in late 2009 williams and whitestone were feuding. However they made up in December 2009, meaning that filming would commence.

Release

As the production dates have been changed so has the release date.It is currently due for release on September 17th 2010.
