The Okai Collier Company
The Okai Collier Company is an arts company that was formed by Simon James Collier & Omar F. Okai. It began by focusing its efforts in the UK fringe theatrical movement but now draws on other fields of entertainment and the arts in its projects.
Noted amongst its productions are: In His Hands, A Mother Speaks (in association with Urban Theatre), Normal (Executive Producer), Collision (Executive Producer), Saintly Sinners: Something Naughty This Way Comes, Dracula, The Smilin' State, The Dorchester, Five Guys Named Moe, My Matisse, Preacherosity, A Wrongful Execution (with Adam Dechanel), The Last Session (rehearsed presentation), Purlie (UK Premiere), Stephen Sondheim's Passion, A...My Name Is Alice & Ruthless! The MusicAL
Amongst other projects like the documentary 411: The Bottom Line On Amhurst Road and the noted movie Dance With Me, Okai Collier was also the driving force behind the The Crusaid Requiem, a Roland Lee composed World Aids Day benefit. It has even stage adapted two of Simon James Collier's children's books for the stage, Countess & Cabbages & Spooky Noises - which both premiered at Merlin Theatre, Frome, Somerset.
Controversially, the company recently announced it was bringing the award winning Kazuo Ishiguro novel and movie The Remains Of The Day to the UK stage in a new play set to music. The teaser art for the show can be found here 1
