The ICARUS

the ICARUS are an electronic outfit based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Formed in 2007 the group comprises of lyricist and vocalist Toby Trueman, producer Whys and singer Tori Higham. Their work focuses on the experimental edge of accessible electronica, with lyrics centred on such subjects as spirituality and religion, methods of social control and personal perception.

2008 saw the release of their début album 'Monologues', a concept album that incorporated elements of hip-hop, drum and bass, spoken word, rock, funk, electronica and post-rock. The album was very well received by the press who labelled it "a post-apocalyptic masterpiece" and "both curiously different and immensely gratifying". The trio went on to record a live set with Vic Galloway on BBC Radio One and were included in the DJ's 'best of 2008' list. Also around this time the group saw themselves short-listed for the 4talent award for music by Channel 4, before breaking the international barrier when their track "Longing for Reason" was used on a TV advert for hit series 'Bones' world wide.

The group are currently working on new material as well as numerous side projects, all of which are receiving critical acclaim. For more information about the group, visit 1 or 2
