The Grail Project

The Grail Project is an effort to develop a "new approach for digital content delivery" which utilizes a finite index of news and entertainment content in conjunction with complex mathematical algorithms to determine personal relevance to each unique individual. The Grail Project was first conceived by Ryan Magnussen, founder of Zentropy and Ripe Digital, in late 2010.

Their core product focus is scouring the Internet every day to find interesting content. The grail project believes this should find its customers. The way the people of the world find the articles and entertainment is broken. The Grail Project is a collective effort to redefine the way this works. The goal is to transform this experience of media consumption into something magical, social, personal, intuitive; the holy grail of content at your fingertips.

The Grail Project algorithms input purchase data, use feeds, viewing history, rating history, and social graph data and then blends them via linear regression to produce outputs of related content, what you might like, and predicted satisfaction. The technology is currently being developed for consumer and business application by the Grail team. The Grail Project is based in Venice, CA.
