The Fox And Tiger Show

The Fox And Tiger Show is a show on GK Radio, the student radio station for Staffordshire University. It is presented by Tommy Hill and Jon Pitt, who are both first year Broadcast Journalist students. It was first broadcast on the 16 April 2007, and, at present, seems like it will continue while they are both at the university.

Basis of the Show

The idea for the radio show came mainly from the success of shows such as I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue'' andJust A Minute''. Indeed, much of the banter comes directly from these shows. Along with this, the presenters promise a variety of music for the student body.

The show lasts two hours, and covers a range of music including indie, rock and pop. However, it is the talk between the songs that marks out the show. The presenters play a variety of games including a round of Just A Minute - where they must talk for a minute on one subject without hesitation, repetition or deviation - and Pick Up Song - where the presenters must sing for approximately a minute to see whether they can keep time to the song.

Each show has a special guest, which are the butt of many jokes by the presenters. However, the term special can be contested as, to date, the guests have been no more than the presenters friends.

It is not quite known how the name of the show came AbOUT. However, it is known that Jon Pitt was known to his school friends as Fox. It is then, simply possible, that Tiger refers to Tommy Hill.
