The Forum (journal)
The Forum is an annual historical journal published by students at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. The journal is associated with Cal Poly's chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, an American honor society for history students and professors. The Forum was founded in 2008 under the guidance of Dr. Tom Trice, a Cal Poly professor, and was first published in Spring 2009. Its first issue included, in addition to other topics, essays on Meiji architecture and cross-cultural exchange with the West, the ideological underpinnings of Euro-American travelogue writings on colonial Southeast Asia, and the evolution of Christian faith among African-Americans in the Antebellum South.
Executive Editors
The Forum is run and edited entirely by Cal Poly students associated with Phi Alpha Theta. The Executive Editors are appointed by Cal Poly faculty and are responsible for assembling and managing an editorial board, soliciting for submissions, distributing papers for review, and making all final decisions concerning the content and layout of the publication.
