The Community College of Baltimore County Honors Program

The Community College of Baltimore County Honors Program offers Honors courses to motivated, high-achieving students on the Catonsville, Dundalk, and Essex campuses. Honors courses at the Community College of Baltimore County are smaller than regular enrollment classes, capping at seventeen students per class. Honors faculty design these courses to be more student-centered, innovative, challenging, and creative than standard courses.

Qualified students can enroll in Honors courses without being members of the Honors Program. Students who apply and gain acceptance to the Honors Program are eligible for three credit scholarships in the Fall and Spring semesters. Students who accumulate at least 15 Honors credits are considered CCBC Honors graduates. Honors graduates earn a certificate and a special designation at graduation.

Graduates of the CCBC Honors Program can also take advantage of articulation agreements with the Maryland colleges and universities, including College of Notre Dame, Coppin State University, Goucher College, McDaniel College, Morgan State University, Towson University, University of Baltimore, University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and University of Maryland, College Park.

The Essex Honors Program

The Essex Honors Program is the first of CCBC's Honors Programs. On April 17th, 2008, the CCBC Essex Honors Program celebrated its 20th anniversary.

The Essex Honors Program runs 15-17 courses per semester. The Program is located in J Building, Room 133 of the Essex campus.

The Catonsville Honors Program

The Catonsville Honors Program runs 10-12 courses per semester. The Program is located in E Building, Room 203 of the Catonsville campus.

The Dundalk Honors Program

The Dundalk Honors Program runs 5-6 courses per semester. The Program is located in K Building, Room 217 of the Dundalk campus.
