The Benders
The Benders were a British comedy sketch group who performed on the London comedy circuit between 2000 & 2002.
This sketch group comprised the following comic actors and writers:
- Neil Edmond (born 1970)
- Stephen Evans (born 1970)
- Renton Skinner (born 1973)
With the occasional involvement of:
- Jordan Long (born 1974)
- Leigh Kelly (born 1969)
- Simon Williams (sound design; born 1971)
The group formed in 2000 after working with the director/performer Ken Campbell on a 24hr play entitled The WarP.
In 2002, Neil Edmond went off to win the Perrier award for best newcomer with the sketch group The Consultants. They went on to record four series of the same name on BBC radio 4 between 2002 and 2005.
In late 2002, Renton, Stephen, and Jordan went on to form Dutch Elm Conservatoire. They were nominated for a Perrier award for their show Conspiracy in August 2005.
