Thanasis Kaproulias is an audio artist who CREATES noise music under the name of Novi_sad

Life and work

Thanasis Kaproulias was born in Greece in 1980. He graduated from the Economic University of Piraues and lives and works in Athens, Greece.

Kaproulias was influenced by the pioneers of audio art and began generating sounds in 2005. He uses amplified environmental recordings, drone manipulations, structured ambient soundscapes, microtones, overtones to create iconoclastic sounds.

Audio projects are primarily focused in architectural acoustics and the relationship between architecture and sound.

Novi_sad’s debut album ‘Misguided heart pulses, a hammer, she and the clock’ received worldwide critical acclaim. Recently, Novi_sad did a recording session at the prestigious VPRO studios in Amsterdam, for the Dutch National Radio. This work, will be released by Staalplaat [NL] in the ‘Mort Aux Vaches’ series. His latest piece ‘Dramazon’ is available on TouchRadio from the publishing house Touch.
