TextbooksRus.com is an online textbook company headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. TextbooksRus.com allows students to purchase, rent, or sell back textbooks and many other types of books. TextbooksRus.com has been in operation since 2002, starting at the Ohio State University.
History
In 2008, TextbooksRus.com launched a marketplace only website, Bookstores.com. Bookstores.com is a marketplace similar to the one offered by TextbooksRus.com, but has a global reach.
TextbooksRus.com also developed Optima, a free web-based inventory management system for booksellers. Optima was developed and is maintained internally by TextbooksRUs.com.
In 2009, TextbooksRus.com added on 55,000 square feet in warehouse space in Grandview Heights, which tripled its previous warehouse space. This warehouse enabled TextbooksRUs.com to hold more than 750,000 books. Also at this time, TextbooksRus.com put into place an advanced picking-and-packing system to ensure orders move quickly and accurately.
Also in 2009, TextbooksRus.com was able to sell in every state in the United States as well as the United Kingdom. United Kingdom sales account for AbOUT five-percent of total sales.
