Terence Guillermo

Terence Guillermo majored in Theater Arts at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City, College of Arts and Letters; studied Voice at the UP Diliman College of Music; and Choral Conducting at the Asian Institute for Liturgy and Music. He travels the Philippines to perform and to teach theater and music. He is a performing arts and MusicAL theater instructor of Celestial Fame in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

He has participated in over a hundred productions in the Philippines and abroad, including “Barbie as the Island Princess” in Singapore along with an international cast. He formerly sings with the Philippine Madrigal Singers and has been the key teacher & faculty member of the Yamaha School of Music-Voice Department, producing several Champions in Yamaha’s annual inter-branch Grand Prix competition. His private voice students have won in National and International voice competitions. He was the musical director of “Search for the Amazing Philippine Singing Star,” a national singing competition televised in IBC 13.

Terence was a delegate and soloist to the 1st Asian Choir Games in Indonesia, and has won Gold, Silver, and Category Winner awards for the Philippines. He was also a delegate to the 1st Daegu International Choral Festival in South Korea, and Cultural Center of the Philippines’ 2nd National Theater Festival and 1st Philippine International Choral Festival. Presently, he is a member of the Philippine Choral Directors Association and choirmaster of several choirs.

Aside from being an artist, Terence has completed the highly specialized Strategic Communications, Planning and Evaluation Course (SCOPE) of the Johns Hopkins University, UP Los Baños College of Developmental Communication, and UP Diliman College of Mass Communications, with equivalent MA credits, and has been the IEC Specialist and Consultant for various developmental projects of European Union, Federal Republic of Germany through the Kredinstalt feur Wieneraufbau, Asian Development Bank, International Labour Organization, Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction, Government of Spain, and the Departments of Health, Agriculture, Land Reform, and Energy.

Terence is an IT Professional, having completed the Certified Internet Professional Program at the Informatics International College and passing a Singapore-sanctioned certification exams. He is presently the Creative Director of his own multi-media and events company in Manila, Philippines: Terence Shapes, Shades and Sounds.
