Tennessee candidates for statewide office

The 2018 United States Senate Primary election in Tennessee will take place on August 2, 2018, and the General Election on November 6, 2018, to elect a member of the United States Senate to represent the State of Tennessee, concurrently with other elections to the United States Senate, elections to the United States House of Representatives, and various state and local elections.

Incumbent Republican Senator Bob Corker has filed his Statement of Candidacy with the Senate to run in the 2018 for U.S. Senate. He will face Nashville Businessman and Counseling Executive Larry Crim, who filed his federal candidacy as a Republican candidate for the 2018 mid-term election with the Office of the Secretary of the U.S. Senate on October 13, 2016, and will run in the Republican Primary on August 2, 2018.

Larry Crim, elected as the Republican nominee for Assessor of Property for Nashville Davidson County, Tennessee graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Tennessee with a B.A. in Arts & Sciences Major in Psychology, Minor in Political Science, earned a Master of Public Administration from The University of Tennessee and achieved a Master of Arts (M.A.) with major in psychology from Middle Tennessee State University, performed his Psychological Practicum at Vanderbilt Inter University Psychological and Counseling Center and is chief executive officer of Christian Counseling Centers of America Inc. The Nashville businessman and counseling executive, who is a Republican, achieved the daunting task of running as a conservative democrat touring all 95 counties of Tennessee made possible through two statewide races across Tennessee. As a result of those statewide tours, Crim determined that the Tennessee and National Democratic Party, in his words, "had no interest in connecting with or representing the views, interests and priorities of the typical Tennesseans and Americans I saw and talked with, but rather in implanting surrogates to push an ultra-liberal agenda in an effort to 'change the people' they claimed, a standard operating policy of the democrat party officials exhibiting a huge disdain for and disconnection with the people as they are." Mr. Larry Crim determined to convert back to his Republican roots and run statewide as a Republican in the 2018 race against Bob Corker because he said - "There is nothing wrong with the typical people and families in Tennessee, but there is something wrong with the typical politicians in Washington."
