Tel Aviv Municipal Center for the LGBT Community

The Tel Aviv municipality provides all of the services for the Tel Aviv LGBT community in the center. Moreover, the center accommodates an abundance of volunteer activities, and cultural activities for the LGBT community.

The center is financed by the Tel Aviv municipality, which invested approximately four million shekels in renovating the building where once resided the Dov Hoz school.

Founded in June 2008, on the opening of the pride parade, which marked ten years since the first pride parade in Tel Aviv.

On May 2009, Clalit health maintenance organization announced it will open a medical clinic in the center, which will place a greater emphasis on treatment of patients from the LGBT community.

Main Fields of Activities

  • Providing professional support services, for people coping with accepting their [...] orientation and for their families.
  • Operating social groups.
  • Providing enriching courses and classes for the LGBT community.
  • Operating a hall for cultural events and gay theater.
  • Giving exposure to artists from the community and presenting their work.
  • Serving as a roof for activites of LGBT volunteer organizations, such as Israeli Gay Youth (Igy) and Hoshen.
