Team Computers is an Indian technology services company headquartered in New Delhi, India. Team employs more than 1650 employees in India as of March 2011. Team is ranked the Best System Integrator of India in 2011 by DataQuest. It has 19 offices and 266 support locations in India. The company offers solutions for Business Intelligence, Creating and Managing IT Infrastructure, Business Applications and Information Technology Consulting.

History

Team Computers was founded on 19 June 1987 by Ranjan Chopra. According to Dare (a leading Information Technology magazine), post IIT, Ranjan Chopra got the opportunity to work with Philips, which proved to be a good learning ground with its techno-commercial background. After two years of training people how to service equipment, he realized that it was not challenging enough. It is then that he joined Raba Contel, an Apple distributor, as Service Manager. The issue was that they did not trust people enough. The system was not oriented towards helping customers and became too bureaucratic; he quit. He then went to Europe on a hitchhiking trip and spent a few months soul searching – driving trucks, picking oranges in Greece, etc. When he came back, he met a few old customers who started enquiring about why he stopped fixing their Mac, Laser Printer, etc. It stuck him that there was a need of Infra Support and he saw this as an opportunity. That was the beginning of Team.

In 2011, Team was rated as the Best System Integrator by DQ Channels.

Team has been committed to leave a positive impact on the society for matters which concern us all. They contribute 1 percent of profits to various causes. Some of the major contributions made by Team Computers towards society are:

1) Sarthak Project: Sarthak- A project started by Dr. Jitendra who had started losing his vision. Project involves educating the blind on computer skills and making them employable. Team provided them with space and infrastructure and today more than 400 students have been provided jobs at leading corporates.

2) Friendicoes: The society looks after abandoned animals in the NCR region and Team has been contributing regularly. http://www.friendicoes.org/

3) Sai Baba Mandir: In Palam Vihar this temple gives care and blessings to thousands of devotees and Team has been contributing in many ways. Last year they arranged a new state of the art power generator which will last through the next ten years.

4) Sarva Shakti Abhiyan: Team contributes a fixed amount every month to this institution which educates poor children in Noida and has developed many world class athletes.

5) Palna: Children with polio can start walking by simple operations which cost only Rs 10,000. Team started contributing by giving a fixed amount every month.
