Tally Koren

Tally Koren is an Israeli-born singer-songwriter. Koren's vocals have accompanied a range of genres, and she is influenced by Middle Eastern and contemporary western Electronic music.

Career

Before working as a musician, Koren had a long career as a model, which culminated in winning the Israel Miss Water beauty competition in 1979. She also served in the army within the Office of the Chief General.

Koren's MusicAL career started in 1995 whilst under the management of Chaum Slutsky. Like Brigit, a song written by Koren, reached the final of Israel's competition to find their entry for the 1995 Eurovision Song Contest. The song which was chosen to was Amen by Liori.

Since 1995, Koren has co-written and worked with a number of musicians in Israel, including Itzhak Klepeter, Micha Shitrit, Dudi Levi, Ohad Dekel, Raviv Gazit, and Shachar Ben Barak.

During the late 1990s, Koren relocated to London and subsequently worked with producers and writers such as Nick Woolfson, Pete Brown, Willy Smack,Susan Stevenson and Dave Dix. In 2004, Koren recorded Wake Up My Child (based on Erik Satie's Gnossiennes). The song featured on the soundtrack of the 2009 independent film Cargo.

On 29 October 2008, Koren launched her new classical album Timeless Melodies with a performance at London's Pizza on the Park. The performance coincided with the premiere of Quantum of Solace, in which Koren played the voice of an Israeli agent. Later in 2008, EMI/Splash released Timeless Melodies album in Korea.

In 2009, Koren composed the song "Rotten Fruit" for the film The Man Who Sold The World. The independent film, directed by Swel and Imad Noury, won an award at the International Film Festival of Marrakech in 2009 won the "Official Selection" award at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival . The song "In My Dreams" featured on the compilation Super Star Cross Over, alongside artists including Charlotte Church and Sarah Brightman. It received regular air play on OMusic TV.

Koren is currently working on her New album 72 Names. The is produced by Koren, Phil Curren, and Yoad Nevo (The Pet Shop Boys, Sugababes, Girls Aloud).

Touring and appearances

Tally has performed across the globe to international audiences at prestigious events such as Pizza on the Park and Marbella Film Festival. Tally has performed in venues such as The House of Lords, Lauderdale House, Bartok, Cobdan club, Soho Review Bar, The Forum, Acoustic room Mean Fiddler, 12 bar club, Kashmir club and other selected London venues. Tally Koren was also requested to perform an exclusive solo guest appearance for the Israeli President Shimon Peres at a charity event for Or Yarok.
