Talia's Restaurant Group

Talia's Restaurant Group, LLC is founded by Ephraim Nagar in 2002 that operates four glatt kosher food establishments at 668 Amsterdam Avenue in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York City: Talia's Steakhouse & Bar (American cuisine), Shawarma Shabazi (Middle Eastern and Israeli cuisine), West Side Wok (Chinese cuisine), and Konata Sushi Bar (Japanese cuisine).

Talia's Steakhouse is one of the longest‑standing kosher meat restaurants in Manhattan and offers prepaid Shabbat dinners on Friday nights. Since 2002, it has also provided prepaid meals for Jewish holidays, including Rosh Hashanah, Sukkot, and Passover Seders.

History

Talia's Steakhouse was founded in 2002 by Ephraim Nagar. The restaurant is situated on Amsterdam Avenue between 92nd and 93rd Streets, an area with a historically significant Jewish population and a concentration of kosher establishments. From its founding, the restaurant aimed to serve a broad clientele including Orthodox Jews, secular Jews, and non‑Jewish customers.

In 2021, the restaurant was among those that benefited from the "On Mondays We Eat Local" campaign. In May 2026, West Side Wok (formerly Gan Asia), a glatt kosher Chinese restaurant operating across the street since 1998, relocated into Talia's kitchen. The owner researched dishes in Asia to adapt them for a kosher clientele, and the restaurant retains its original chef and management.

Talia's menu combines American steakhouse dishes, including prime rib, ribeye steak, and branzino, with Middle Eastern items such as hummus, baba ganoush, falafel, shakshuka, and Israeli salad. The restaurant also serves brunch, vegetarian options, a children's menu, and maintains a bar and wine selection.

The restaurant is known for its weekly prepaid Shabbat dinners and for offering Rosh Hashanah, Sukkot, and Passover Seder meals and Passover-compliant menus. It also serves meals on American holidays such as Thanksgiving.

During the Nine Days, Talia's offers a temporary fish and vegetarian menu called "Talia's Fishhouse".

Since 2022, the restaurant has hosted occasional pop-up dining events featuring guest cuisines. In 2023, owner Ephraim Nagar opened Shawarma Shabazi, a takeout restaurant adjacent to Talia's serving shawarma, falafel, and sabich.
