SwáSthya Yôga

SwáSthya Yôga, the DeRose Method, is the name given to the systematization, by Master DeRose, of Preclassical Ancient Yoga, based on Dakshinacharatántrika-Niríshwarasámkhya (Tantra-Sámkhya) lineage. DeRose is a renown ancient Indian philosophy scholar and author. The systematization is getting recognized around the world, mainly in Latin America and Europe. SwáSthya Yôga is also known as the DeRose Method ("Método DeRose" in Spanish and Portuguese), or "Méthode De Rose" in French, etc.)

Characteristics

SwáSthya Yôga characteristics are: 1) the ashtánga sádhana (the practice with eight parts or groups of techniques); 2) general rules of execution; 3) linked sequences without repetition. etc.

Ashtánga sádhana

Ashtánga sádhana is the complete SwáSthya Yôga practice. It consists of the following angas (groups of techniques):

  1. Mudrá - hand gestures;
  2. Pújá - energy retribution;
  3. Mantra - vocalization of sounds and ultra-sounds (utilizing kirtan and japa);
  4. Pránáyáma - exercises to manipulate bio-energy;
  5. Kriyá - techniques for body purification (material, not spiritual);
  6. Ásana - organic, firm, and pleasant procedure;
  7. Yôganidrá - techniques to relax;
  8. Samyama - concentration, meditation and samádhi.

Special note: The asthánga sádhana is different from Ashtánga Yôga, which is another type of Yôga, also known as Patañjali Yôga.
