Swiss International Scientific School

Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai, also known as SISD, is an international day and boarding school in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

History

The school was established in 2014 and opened in September 2015 for the start of the academic year.

Campus

SISD is home to AbOUT 1,000 students. The Boarding Houses consist of 50 en-suite rooms that can be configured for single or double occupancy, each boarding house can accommodate up to 75 students from Grades 6 to 12. The Dh 530 million state-of-the-art campus located near the Dubai Creek has a total capacity for 2,442 students. [10]  It consists of one Primary School campus, Secondary School campus and separate sports facilities including an Olympic size swimming pool, football and rugby pitch, 2 paddle tennis courts, 2 tennis courts and a cardio and weight room.

Programs

It is Dubai’s first private school to offer multilingual education in French, English, German and Arabic. The School offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme (PYP, MYP, Diploma Programme) from Pre-KG to Grade 12 in English+ additional languages (Arabic and French or German) or in two bilingual English-French and English-German streams. SISD is open for children between the ages of 3 and 18 years.

The diverse student body is made up of more than 60 different nationalities. In 2017, SISD opened its secondary campus for Grades 6-12. At SISD, day school fees are 60,000 AED - 120,000 AED, and the fees for full-time boarders are charged between 225,000 - 280,000 AED and 188,000 - 235,000 AED per year for weekly boarding. 

In 2016, SISD earned recognition as winner of the Happy and Healthy School (H2) Award organized by Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) .
