Sushant Public School

Sushant Public School is an English medium co-educational school established in May 2006, affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, India. This school is managed by the Onkar Educational Trust, Muzaffarpur, a non-profit making charity. The school campus is AbOUT 4 acres with lush green campus. The school promotes traditional Indian values in students, such as touching the feet of elders to celebrating festivals of all religions. Students also practice Yoga, Meditation and Vedic Recitation.

Location

The school is situated in Nunfara village. It in 9 km from N.H.57 And 30 km from Muzaffarpur Town. The village is well connected to the major places of the town.

History

The School is named after Sushant Saurav (20 November 1985 - 13 January 2003) was a student of Vikas Vidalaya, Ranchi and the son of Shambhu Sharan Prasad Roy, one of the trustees of Onkar Educational Trust. Sushant Saurav was a promising student who wanted to educate all children of his village. In his memory, Onkar Trust established a school to fulfill his dream.

Management

The School is managed by Onkar Educational Trust, Muzaffarpur. Trust's head office is in Nunfara, Muzaffarpur. The Trustees are Shambhu Sharan Prasad Roy, Sunil Kumar Singh, A.K.Thakur, Rakesh Kumar and O.P. Trivedi.

School campus

The school campus is spread over 4 acres situated in the village Nunfara. The campus is noted for being environment-friendly with facilities such as lush green campus, central water conservation system, well developed gardens, and a tree conservation mechanism. Year-round programs are included in the curriculum to help inculcate a green awareness among the students. About 400 trees are planted in the campus.

Facilities

• Library: The School library is furnished, ventilated and stocked with text books and reference books. A special period is provided in the school timetable and children are encouraged to read books.
• Computer Center: There are well-equipped and Hi-Tech computer lab in the school. Computer education is provided from class I onwards.
• Laboratory: Well equipped laboratory for Physics, Chemistry and Biology are available.
• Yoga: Regular yoga classes are arranged for all the student, for mental peace and good health.
• Sports: Sports facility is available. Sports facility include tennis courts, a badminton court, a volley ball court and a basket ball court, tracks for athletics, a football and hockey field and a cricket pitch.
• Transport:The school has its own school buses and other transporting facilities are available.

Student activities

The primary medium of instruction is English. Other languages taught in the school are Hindi, Sanskrit and French along with subjects like Science, Mathematics and Social Studies. Beyond Class 10 a student can choose either science or commerce stream. Apart from academics, the school also places importance on co-curricular activities like music, dance, dramatics, arts, photography, taekwondo, yoga and computers. There are hobby clubs where students sharing the same interests can interact. These clubs organize inter-school workshops and symposia annually for students, teachers and parents. The students social awareness is enhanced by the observance of numerous occasions such as World Environment Day, Constitution Day, Human Rights Day, Science Day etc.
