Suhell Nafar

Suhel Nafar is a member of the first Palestinian Hip Hop crew, DAM. He is also a filmmaker. Suhel stars and narrates in “Slingshot Hip Hop” which premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and has received over 13 awards.

At age twelve, Suhel shot and directed his first video. Recently he worked for short documentaries for the PBS TV series, “Arab American Stories”, directed a music video for UN Women, “Law Arja Bil Zaman” The music video was also part of “Art/Violence” official selection at Berlin International Film Festival Berlinale 2013 and a short kids film, “Yala to the Moon”, which is an official selection at the Toronto International Film Festival 2012 and is currently screening in festivals around the world. While Nafar continues to work on films as a writer, director and animator he also mentors workshops and performs with DAM.
