StrikeIron (founded in 2002) is an Internet business which enables publishers to sell Web services by hosting the API to which application developers integrate. Unlike typical software integration, each Web service resides on the publisher's website where it responds to requests from the applications. Examples of web services include: Address Verification; Tax Rate Calculation; and SMS messaging.

Instead of integrating the entire service, as is normal when integrating software, application developers enable services in their software which then makes requests to the Web service as needed. This makes it possible for end users to use the service in a 'pay as you go' model. Additionally, StrikeIron manages the billing for all web services in its marketplace, making it convenient for end users to subscribe and pay for multiple web services in one monthly bill.

StrikeIron has been called a Service Grid, a Web Services Marketplace and a Provider of Integration On-demand. StrikeIron headquarters are located in Research Triangle Park, just outside of Raleigh, North Carolina.
