Strataware

Strataware (also called "MyCom" in different jurisdictions) is a strata title management application, it is the first software of this type to be developed on a SaaS (software as a service) platform. It is developed and supported by Mystrata Pty Ltd, Brisbane, Australia.

History

Early History

In 1999, Chris Leahy started development on a work order and invoicing system for Queensland's Body Corporate industry. This initial version was written for an individual client, it had no name and was not commercially available. After only one year of operation on the Access platform, work started to re-develop the application in to a new web based RAD tool called Omnis Studio, it was at this point that the product was given the name "Strataware".

Version 1

The initial version of Strataware was only available for the Queensland jurisdiction, however it was also converted for use in New South Wales in 2002.

Features of Strataware Version 1 included:

  • Cash based, General Ledger accounting
  • Owner levy ledgers
  • Financial reporting
  • Levy invoicing module
  • Work order module
  • Address book
  • Record keeping (insurance details etc)

Version 1 represented a system for the basic management of strata titled units in Queensland and New South Wales, however it was (and still is) the only SaaS option available for the Strata Title Management industry. Strataware Version 1 was in wide spread operation until early 2006.

Version 2

The second version of Strataware was released in 2006 in the Queensland and Victorian markets, it boasted a new interface and rich feature set. This version was very successful and saw significant growth in users across Australia. This version was also exported to the Middle East under the name MyCom in 2009 and further expanded to the New South Wales territory in February 2010.

Continuing Development

Strataware is an ACTIVE project and is always under development. The current version under development at type of writing is Strataware Version 3.

Version 3 promises a new user interface, user customisable dashboards and additional strata industry functionality including support for volumetric subdivisions.

There is no current official release date for Strataware Version 3 from Mystrata Pty Ltd.
