Stonxyblot Proxy

Stonxyblot Proxy is a Norwegian musician AKA Olav Røyrhus Øyehaug. The style of his music is considered unique but may be classified as electronic and based on Hip Hop. Born in 1977 in the town of Ørsta, he has lived through many style influences and started early on to mix music with a double cassette tape recorder.

Most often he appears on stage as a member of The Kanossa Gang, a band local to Bergen, Norway. He has also appeared together with the musical ensemble Uncle's Institution, and did a remix of their song Babe which is one of three tracks on the Babe Hit Single. Recently he has occasionally performed together with the writer Gunnhild Øyehaug, his sister.

In addition to making his own music and being a member of The Kanossa Gang, Stonxyblot Proxy compose music for films and documentary through the label Nivane Film-Musikk, many of which has been broadcasted on Norwegian television or in other media. The breakthrough may have been when he put music to the documentary Life's a gamble, which follows Thor Hansen's extraordinary life as a professional gambler in Las Vegas. This documentary was first aired on TV2 16th of December, 2004.

Rarities

One of the songs available from Transformatorlyd.com, Sonxy Teeth, contains original sound from the 1947 HUAC hearing of Bertolt Brecht, mixed into a rhythmic experience. Especially the part where the prosecutioner reads from Brechts poems is brought to new life.
