St.Joseph Church, Larkana
St. Joseph's Church is part of the parish of Larkana, 322 kilometers northeast of Karachi. Fr. Melito Dias was parish priest in the 1970’s, and from there he wrote regular columns about his hermitage for the Christian Voice, Karachi.
“Strong Christian families are the backbone of the Church” was the theme of an April 18, 1997, seminar organised by the Catechetical Centre, Karachi at St. Joseph's parish. Father John Mendonca was the parish priest of St. Joseph's parish at the time.
Father Kamran Taj was parish priest of St.Joseph’s church in 2004.
Father Francis Anwar is parish priest of St. Joseph Church in Larkana, Sindh, near the ancestral home of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. Bhutto was killed at a political rally in Rawalpindi, on December 27, 2007,severely disrupting the election campaign of the Pakistan People's Party, which she headed.
Franciscan Missionaries of Mary Sisters Fauzia Rafique and Shakeela Sardar, the first parishioners from the Larkana parish of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Karachi to enter religious life, are to go to serve in Africa. They made their final vows on April 25,1997, at St. Lawrence's Church in a ceremony presided over by Archbishop Simeon Anthony Pereira of Karachi.
