Sterling S11
The Sterling S11 is a 9mm submachine gun of British origin. The weapon was designed in 1965 as a replacement for the L2A3 and a rival to the Heckler & Koch MP5. However due to the lack of sales and problems with the design of the S11, only one example exists.
Overview
The Sterling S11 is an open bolt fired weapon fed from the same 32 round L2A3 magazines inserted from the side. Unlike the previous L2A3 it has a square section receiver that has a top cover/cocking handle similar to that of the Uzi. The S11 also comes with an underfolding STOCK and a handguard to PReVENT the instinct of gripping the side inserted magazine (which could affect feed issues). It comes with a pistol grip similar to the L2A3 but with a grip safety. Also to note the S11 comes with two bayonet lugs, one on the side in front of the magazine insert that accepts L2A3 bayonets and one underneath that accepts L1A1 bayonets.
