Starz Lacrosse Foundation
The Starz Lacrosse Foundation was founded by University of Maryland alumni Scott Hochstadt in 2001. The foundation's original purpose was to bring the sport of lacrosse from the traditional hotbeds on the East Coast, to untapped areas on the West Coast. Hochstadt has elevated the sport to new levels, where it is now featured in mainstream TV and film under the guidance of the Starz offshoot Legend Unlimited. Fellow Maryland alumnus Xander Ritz joined Starz and Legend Unlimited in 2007, to help manage growth and operations of the Foundation.
The Starz Foundation is based out of Manhattan Beach, California, but currently supports and manages over 120 teams West of the Mississippi. The teams and programs are outfitted with Nike uniforms and Adrenaline Apparel, a clothing line Hochstadt founded in college and is now based out of San Diego.
