Kepley, became the church's first minister in June of 1963. On Easter eve, 1970, a fire caused heavy damage to the building at the corner of New Bern Avenue and Luther Road. The Congregation relocated temporarily to North Ridge Elementary School and in 1981 the first building on Falls of Neuse Road was completed. In 1981, the fellowship hall and classrooms were finished. In 1986, the sanctuary was completed, and in 2001, the educational building. Prior to Pastor Kepley’s retirement in 1998, Rev. David Amidon was called as Associate Pastor and accepted the call as Pastor in 1998. Rev. Diane Amidon accepted the Congregational call for Associate Pastor in the fall of 1998. The current pastors at the church are Rev. David Amidon and his wife, Rev. Diane Amidon.
