Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom

The Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom (SSV) college is a college in Kerala, located at Valayanchirangara, a village on the outskirts of Perumbavoor town.

The College

Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom College, named after the Great Saint Philosopher Sree Sankaracharya, was founded in the year 1967. The college is managed by the Sree Sankara Trust which was formed in the year 1965 for promoting higher education in rural areas in confirmity with the IDeaS and values enlighted and propagated by Jagad Guru Adi Sankaracharya, and to this day remain proudly committed to this Sacred goal.

Vision

The Upanishad Mantra (in Sanskrit) (Thamaso ma jyothir gamaya -Lead me from thedarkness of ignorance to the Light of knowledge) is the Vision of our College.

Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom was accrediated by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council,)NAAC) in the year 2006.

IQAC

The Inter Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is established in Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom College as a post-accrediation quality sustenance. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of this institution

Grievance Redressal Cell

Student's Grievance Redressal Cell established in this college has been cast to address the diverse socio-economic handicaps and geographic backgrounds of the heterogeneous population of students coming to this institution and placement opportunities through availability of appropriate institutional support information. It is to deal with the complex situations in a tactful manner to lessen the condition felt to be oppressive or dissatisfied.

Anti-Ragging Cell

An Anti-ragging cell is established in the college to protect students as Ragging is Prohibited as per the decision of the Supreme Court of India in Writ Petition No. (C) 656/1998.AICTE has framed regulation which has been notified vide F.No.37-3/Legal/AICTE/2009 dated July 1, 2009 on curbing the menace of ragging.

UGC Cell

A UGC Cell is functioning in this college to collect and distribute the informations and other guide lines form UGC to the teachers and departments form time to time. Its also functions as an information centre.

Placement Cell

The Placement Cell coordinates the placement activity in the campus for students in the final year of their programme of study. It designs and publishes a Placement Brochure, initiates dialogues with companies in various cities, and organizes interviews for the students.

NSS

National Service Scheme programme aims to inculcate social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias. NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity. In doing so, volunteers learn from people in villages how to lead a good life despite a scarcity of resources. it also provides help in natural and man-made disasters by providing food,clothing and first aid to the disaster victims.

Debate Club

This is the place where students can share there ideas through speech an expression in an open forum, engage in rhetoric on a variety of issues in local, regional, national and international level and expand learning in order to become more active and productive citizens.

Cine Club

This is an active film club functioning in this college to propagate film as an art form given by science.

Yoga Club

The ultimate goal of this club is to help individuals to transcend the self and attain enlightenment. The Yoga Club is functioning under the Department of Physical Education

Chess Club

This club is to enrich the lives of students through mental sportsmanship and to promote the art and science of the game through recreational and competitive class.

Teen's Club

This club is to educate the students about the problems of teen age and to solve them.

Literary Club

The objective of this club is to indicate a versatile reading habit among the students and also to probe in to new trends of literature.
