Sporting Hackney Football Club is an English football club based in Hackney, London, England. The club currently plays in the Middlesex County Football League.
History
The club was originally formed as Hackney Young Peoples' Unemployment Project, in 1986. The name Sporting Hackney was adopted in 1989 when the club joined the London Commercial League.
By 2000 the first team had reached Division 1 of the London Commercial League and in 2006 the second XI climbed to Division 2 of the League.
At the end of the 2008/09 season the Club took the decision to leave the London Commercial League and move into the Middlesex County Football League. The first team competes in Division 1 (Central & East) and the second team in the Senior Reserve Division.
