Spencer M. Aronfeld is an American lawyer residing in Coral Gables, Florida. He is also founder and chairman of the organization Lawyers to the Rescue.
Education
Aronfeld earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Miami in 1988. He completed a Juris Doctor at the University of Miami graduating Cum Laude in 1991.
Early life and career
Aronfeld opened up his own law practice shortly upon graduating from law school. He specializes in personal injury and medical malpractice. He speaks to law students on the topic of opening up their own law firms.
In April 1993, Aronfeld won a large case when an Orlando, Florida jury awarded his Uruguayan client a $100,000 verdict against Walt Disney World. This was significantly higher than the $1,222 Disney had originally offered his client, Elena Boruchovas.
In 2010, Aronfeld and his wife Dina started Lawyers to the Rescue, a non-profit organization committed to providing humanitarian and financial assistance to individuals and communities in times of crisis. The mission of the organization was later refined to providing free of charge legal assistance. The organization has since provided assistance to Cambodian and Vietnamese fisherman and shrimpers after the BP Oil Spill and the homeless in support of Camillus House in Miami, Florida.
Aronfeld has written two books: a children's book Sara Rose, Kid Lawyer and Make It Your Own Law Firm for helping lawyers start their own law firm.
