Speed of light (film)
Speed of Light is a psychological thriller that follows the fate of two brothers that land on an island and discover a huge and derelict warehouse. They discover what could happen at the Speed of Light. It's a tale of two stories colliding throughout an entire night. Two stories lived at the same time, but with a slightly different content.
Storyline and Character Overview
Thomas (aged 16) and Vincent (aged 14), two ordinary and well-behaved brothers decide to run away from a broken home. They land on a small island off the South Coast of England one evening to escape their current reality.
On the island they discover a huge, derelict and abandoned warehouse. Inside the building they find their way with the use of only a disposable cigarette lighter.
G1 is a small time crook, who lives inside a toilet cubicle in the abandoned warehouse. It's a big house that time forgot, only accessible by a small ferry boat travelling daily from the mainland. G1 has a girlfriend or thought he had. He often thinks of her and believes in his dreams that she visits him from time to time.
Jenia is a young 22 year old, mean and vulgar who spends most of her time living inside a London housing estate.
G1 works occasionally, he hops on the ferry to the mainland to steal people's wallets. G1 is in his thirties and has a severe [...] problem. He has a mate, Kid, a small time crook who POPS in on occasion. Unlike G1 he hasn't got a [...] problem.
The two brothers arrived in the warehouse one summer evening and remained there until the early hours of the next day.
Exhausted after a long, frantic and scary search for some adventure from the basement to the top floor, they fall asleep on the stairs. Later in a dream or maybe reality they bump into G1. From then on the nightmare begins. A cat and mouse chase takes place inside the derelict warehouse. Eventually the two brothers are being held hostage throughout the night in a violent and bloody ordeal. By the morning the youngest brother transforms himself from a terrified child into a ferocious, vengeful killer and takes control of the situation.
They manage to escape; Thomas is severely wounded but alive leaving G1 dead behind.
Parallel to the story, Thomas, the older brother is obsessed by a science fiction novel and spends most of his time telling and narrating the content to his brother and ends-up annoying him in the process.
The film opens with Thomas reading his novel over a series of images from Thomas's book entitled "Speed of Light".
