Specter of Newby Church

The Specter of Newby Church refers to a figure seen in a 1963 photo, taken at Newby Church in North Yorkshire, England.
Reverend K.F. Lord, the incumbent reverend at this time, took a photo of the church alter, when it was developed a semi transparent figure dressed in a black robe appeared.
The Figure has been estimated to be at least 9 foot tall (2.75 m). Due to the black robe it was dressed it has been speculated the figure was perhaps the ghost of a monk.
Newby Church opened in 1870 and didn't have a history of ghosts or hauntings to anyone's knowledge.
The Specter had never been seen prior to the photo, and has not been seen since.
Another photo was seen of The Specter sitting on a bench, the photo has not gained as much notoriety as the alternate photo of the specter looking at the camera near the alter in the Church.
