Special army cadets

The United States Special Army Cadets Program (US SACP) is a military youth program dedicated to the enrichment of the lives of young people throughout all of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. We are a select organization, recognized by the Department Of Defense as a 'Service Educational Activity' for young men and women ages 8-17. At the core of the USSACP Training Program lies an Army Reserves-type organization and structure. Such structure is augmented with instruction in numerous catagories including: Rappeling & Mountain Climbing, Map, Compass and Land Navigation, Marksmanship & Firearms Safety and First Aid and Water Survival, just to name a few. Our focus is on providing military skills orientation that objectively promote Self-discipline, Confidence and Enhanced Character within our youth.

We are NOT a juvenile delinquency program! Therefore, all Prospective Cadets must be Crime-Free, [...]-Free, and Doing Well in School. In order for us to teach, one must be ready, willing and able to learn! We educate young men and women on many aspects of necessary life-skills within an orderly and structured, military environment. The physical and emotional challenges experienced and the leadership training received will guide youth through the most difficult obstacle course of all...life!

Our Mission is "To provide Puerto Rico youth, the opportunity to grow mentally, physically, and spiritually through the promotion of the military arts and sciences while instilling a sense of personal and national pride, self-respect, self-confidence and overall well being through the USSACP core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment."

The requirements to become an US SACP cadet are:

Had between 8 and 17 years old. Personnel 16-20 years and older will be selected for Officer Candidate positions, if qualify. Must be enrolled at public or private school. Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. Registered Alien with residence in Puerto Rico. Must have free all Saturdays between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
