Soulgery: A Lifelong Guide to Unlocking Your Potential

Soulgery: A Lifelong Guide to Unlocking Your Potential is a personal growth framework developed by Ahmet Bozer and introduced in his book Soulgery. The framework presents a holistic approach to personal growth through lived experience. Bozer defines growth as "the lifelong process of becoming increasingly capable, impactful, and resilient." Soulgery is organized around two central concepts—the Self-Map and the Four Acts of Growth—which together provide a practical structure for applying its ideas in everyday life.

Background

Ahmet Bozer developed Soulgery following several decades of global leadership experience. He describes Soulgery as a personal growth approach that combines breadth and depth, addressing subjects such as love, meaning, and wisdom alongside performance, resilience, and adversity. It also examines how a person's sense of self may influence their experience of each of these areas.

Soulgery is not affiliated with a particular religion or philosophy. It does, however, recognize spirituality as one dimension of human capacity and incorporates it into its broader approach to personal growth. Soulgery is presented as adaptable to different life circumstances, stages of life, and cultural contexts.

Framework

Self-Map

Soulgery introduces a conceptual model called the Self-Map to describe the human being in two broad aspects:

The Inner Self consists of:

  • the Core — the physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of the human being;
  • the Council of Three — will, conscience, and sense of self;
  • Human Equity — qualities such as love, wisdom, and character; and
  • Core Skills to navigate relationships, decisions, and challenges.

The Outer Self consists of:

  • the various roles an individual occupies throughout life; and
  • the Human Ecosystem — the network of people, groups, and environments with which the individual interacts.

According to Soulgery, the Self-Map is intended to help individuals better understand their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and patterns, and how these influence their experiences and personal growth.

Four Acts of Growth

Soulgery suggests that growth through lived experience can be accelerated through four interconnected "acts," collectively referred to as the Four Acts of Growth:

  1. Find Your Direction — drawing inspiration from lived experience and searching for meaning.
  2. Aim for Impact — cultivating an impact orientation by embracing a legacy mindset and shaping character.
  3. Perform with Excellence — using practices such as personal planning, time management, and taking ownership of well-being to pursue performance excellence across life roles.
  4. Hack Your Growth — navigating adversity in a growth-minded way.

Use and audience

Soulgery is intended for readers across different life stages, including young adults, working professionals, leaders, and individuals navigating periods of transition. Its concepts may be applied to relationships, work, personal aspirations, and everyday challenges. The framework is nonlinear, allowing readers to begin with the act or concept most relevant to their circumstances.

Publication and availability

The book is available internationally in print, e-book, and audiobook formats. The English edition is distributed through Amazon and Kindle, and the audiobook is available on Audible and more than 40 listening platforms. The author has indicated that translations are planned as global interest grows.
