Sotogrande International School is a K-12, fully-accredited boarding- and day-school. Set in a campus surrounded by woods and golf courses, it has grown from a small British-style school founded in 1978 to an IB World School of some 650 boys and girls, international In character and progressive in values.

CURRICULUM
SIS follows the IB Curriculum with The Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma programmes. With this approach many of its graduates have earned IB Diplomas and places in the world’s top universities..

STAFF
Its 100 full- and part-time teachers, administrators and support staff come from the UK, USA, Canada, Spain, Ireland and several other countries. All are fully-qualified specialists.

FACILITIES
Performing arts and music are strongly emphasised and the facilities include a theatre. Sports facilities include an astroturf pitch, swimming pool and fully-equipped gymnasium. The school takes advantage of the many outdoor recreational activities on offer in the immediate area, including tennis, sailing, horse-riding, polo and golf. The school offers scholarships for budding golf professionals who can complete a full IB diploma and develop golf skills with professionals.

SCHOOL YEAR AND SCHOOL DAY
SIS follows a standard school year of some 186 days, with summer, winter and spring holidays as well as mid-term breaks. The residential students in addition have an extensive programme of activities available to them throughout the evenings and weekends.

EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
SIS is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools, the IBO and the Association of British Schools in Spain. The school is also authorized by the Spanish authorities and offers a convalidated programme for Spanish students.
