Someplace Else (Kolkata)
Someplace Else (Bengali: সামপ্লেস এল্স), [abbreviated as SPE] is a pub at the Park Street, Kolkata. The pub offers various kinds of drinks and food for its customers. Ever since it opened on 19 August 1994, Someplace Else, the British style pub at The Park Kolkata has dominated pub culture in the city. Unlike other pubs in India, it is the only pub which also hosts quality live music every single night. The pub hosts 3285 hours of live music every year which is the highest anywhere in India and in Asia too among pubs. (approximately nine hours of live music everyday).
Introduction
Someplace Else hosts live music by the city's best bands every day, with various kinds of music. Artists also perform with aspiring performers on stage. The pub is situated inside the Park Hotel and is regarded as a heritage spot of the city. The pub also offers drinks, lunch and dinner. Famous bands like Skinny Alley, Hip Pocket, Lou Majaw, Prestorika, Parikrama, Indian Ocean, Krosswindz, Underground Authority, Them Clones and many International musical bands have performed in this pub. Many music fests have also been organised in this pub.
Open mic sessions
Open mic sessions are held only once a month where any band/artist can perform. It usually starts from 6:00PM and ends at 9:00PM. Many school bands get an opportunity to show their talent at open mic sessions. The session is not restricted to musicians alone but also includes original poetry, stand-up comedy, mime and solo acting. For good performance the band/artist may become one of the regulars at Someplace Else.

- Aurora Jane with Band T2 at Someplace Else
Aurora Jane performed at Someplace Else with T2 which was her third visit and sixth time in India. The Australian singer and guitarist stopped by for a late-night chat with T2 on Saturday after a high-energy gig at Someplace Else that also featured Mal Webb on the horns and Kozy Karsay on the drums.

Laura Marling with Mumford & Sons have played live at Someplace Else on 19 December 2009 during their six city tour in India.
- Dub FX at Someplace Else
Dub FX is a worldwide street performer and studio recording artist from St Kilda, Melbourne, Australia. They toured in Someplace Else, Kolkata on 3 December 2010.
- Kolkata Autumn Music Festival 2010
The Kolkata Autumn Music Festival 2010 was held at Someplace Else, Kolkata for two days. With 25 bands lined up over two days, the bands rocked, rolled and impressed the judges with a range of American classics and rock, grunge, metal, jazz and gospel originals.

Some major rock music festivals are also held at Someplace Else, which features the best bands form Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Banglore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Shillong and Pune.
- The Pulp Society at Someplace Else
The funk-rock band The Pulp Society played many numbers at Someplace Else on 5 February 2011.
- Talent Hunt on 11th Anniversary
Many popular bands from Kolkata and other cities took part in this during 11th anniversary, some of them were Krosswindz, Orient Express, Anjan Dutt, Hip Pocket, Indian Ocean, and Skinny Alley. The idea was to promote music in all its forms.
- 16th Anniversary Celebrations
Bertie & Friends performed at Someplace Else during its 16th Birthday. They played some slow soulful numbers. The next act featured Someplace Else regulars Hip Pocket.
- Kingfisher Pub Rock Fest
The Kingfisher Pub Rock Fest was started on 31 August 2009 at Someplace Else, 15 bands from across the country were called to perform at the Someplace Else till mid-September 2009.
