The Small College

The Small College is the movement that began with the conscience and cognition on the worrisome fact that the Korean colleges and universities had lost the critical thinking and knowledge on the society. To recover the lost criticism and vestige of the human knowledge, in 1991, the five professors or scholars-Young Sin Park(Yonsei Univ.), Deok kyu Jin (Ewha Univ.), Hak Su Kim(Sogang Univ.), Ye Deok Yoon(Sogang Univ.), In Jae Jung(Sogang Univ.)-gathered together and built up the Small College that comprised the universities located in Shinchon area of Seoul in the first place, and spreaded over all the universities and colleges to the nation extent these days. The course of the Small College, mainly, consists of the so-called classics; Plato, Aristotle, J.J. Rousseau, Kant, Nietzche, Marx, Arendt, Dostoevskii, and so forth. Students of the Small College have the exprience of reading the books of those figures with the aids of professors.
