Sistranser Bach

The Sistranser Bach also: Sistrans Creek originates near Sistrans Alpine Hut on an altitude of 1.400 – 1.600 meters. The Creek is formed of 5 nearly same big source creeks altogether, which look like a fan on the map. He flows from North to South and passes through the villages of Sistrans and Aldrans.

Near Castle Ambras the Creek splits in two arms. The side arm flows in the Castle park and forms the „Castle Fall“, a waterfall with a height of 20 Meters. This is one of the most interesting points of the Creek. The main arm flows along the Castle wall and merges in the district Amras (Innsbruck) from right into the Lanser brook, which merges furthermore in the Inn River. The Creek has a length of 6 km.

The Sistranser Bach has an excellent water quality: A Grade and provides the surrounding villages with 5 water reservoirs with drinking water. Even small fishes like trouts can be found in the creek.
